Crimp Tools

Crimp Tool Calibration

There are a wide variety of crimp tools used in aviation and industry.  The calibration method is determined by the tool manufacturer.

Typically calibration involves:

  • Checking the tools physical condition
  • Checking the spring tensions or forces required
  • Checking the jaws (or dies) by either;
    • crimping a terminal and measuring it afterwards,
    • or using a go/no-go gauge.
